William Larry York, born on September 3, 1946, in Nashville, Tennessee, passed away at his home in Hephzibah, Georgia, on July 20, 2025, at the age of 78.
Larry was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend. He was married to his beloved wife, Grace "Libby" York, and was the proud father of daughters Kimberly Cantrell and Tammy York, and son John White, Sr. (Brooke). His legacy continues through his grandchildren: Eddie Cantrell, Crystal Cantrell, Dillion Cantrell (Megan), Mayron York, Jesse York, JD White, Lily White, Jacob White, and Luke White; and his great-grandchildren: Cameron, Braxton, Bentley, Hazel, Landon, Skye, Mikayla, Preston, and Keleigh.
Larry worked as an insulator for 38 years with Local Union 86, a career he took great pride in. After retiring from that field, he continued working as a delivery truck driver for Augusta Delivery Service until his final retirement. He was known for his strong work ethic, contagious sense of humor, and deep love for his family. He was always willing to lift another.
He is survived by his wife Libby, his children and grandchildren, and his brothers Gerald York and Steve York. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Virginia York; his wives Teresa York and Iris York; siblings Petey York and Sissy York; and his daughter Angela York.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, July 25th at 10:00 a.m. at Solomon's Porch Pentecostal Church, located at 2314 Old Savannah Road, Augusta, GA 30906. The service will be followed by a graveside burial at Hillcrest Memorial Cemetery.
Larry's life was a testimony of dedication, resilience, and love. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him
