William Dean McCalester (aka BONE), of Hepzibah, GA, passed away on March 8 th after a long courageous fight with bladder cancer, a leg amputation on top of heart issues at the age of 71.
He was born in Parsons, Kansas to Max and Renate McCalester. William graduated from Bethel High School in Hampton, VA. After high school he worked as a welder at the Newport News Shipyard before working construction outages at power plants through out the country. He worked his way from welder and pipe fitter to foreman and general foreman. He finally settled down in Hepzibah, GA and worked as a foreman and general foreman for the paper mill.
When William wasn’t working, he enjoyed riding and working on motor cycles, cars and trucks. He loved his dogs and bragged about never having to spank them.
William is survived by his daughter Megan Green and her Husband Brian. He also leaves behind his siblings, Robert McCalester, Julia Giles, Mike McCalester, and Steve McCalester.
