William F. Feldman

September 23, 1948 — January 18, 2026

Augusta

William F. “Bill” Feldman, of Augusta, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, January 18, 2026. He was born on September 23, 1948, in Chicago, Illinois, to the late Louis Feldman and Anne J. Feldman.

Bill spent his early years in Chicago before being transferred to Frankfort, Kentucky, where he built a long and steady career with the Public Service Commission for the State of Kentucky. He served as an assistant director and retired after 28 years of dedicated state service. Bill was known for being kind, helpful, dependable, organized, and punctual. He lived by the mottos “A place for everything and everything in its place” and “If you are not 15 minutes early, you are late,” principles that shaped both his work and daily life.

Family and his friends were important to Bill, and he valued staying connected and supportive of those close to him.

He had a strong appreciation for local history and was a natural researcher long before information was easily found online. Before websites became popular, Bill was the one who supplied local yard sale listings to fellow enthusiasts. An avid yard saler and collector, he especially enjoyed postcards, building an extensive collection that brought together history, collecting, and his interest in computers as they evolved.

Bill enjoyed playing chess, trivia, and card games, and he was a devoted fan of University of Kentucky sports and served as a volunteer for the University of Kentucky Committee of 101. He found satisfaction in learning, organizing information, and sharing what he discovered with others.

He was preceded in death by his son, Edward Devers, and his siblings Allen Feldman and Sandra DuBuske.

He is survived by his children, Anne (Tim) Turner and Robert (Keri) Devers; 7 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings, Sheldon Pike, Jeffrey Pike, and Judy Reiner, and was a loving uncle to Alison, Matthew, and Mitchell Gobetz.

No services are planned at this time.

Bill will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
