William C. “Bill” Meredith, age 90, of Augusta, Georgia, passed away on September 26, 2025, at Fairview Park Hospital in Dublin, Georgia.
Bill was born on July 16, 1935, in Beckley, West Virginia, to Owen Meredith and Lucy (McDonough) Meredith. He was a Korean War-Era veteran, trained as a medic. He served in the infantry in Germany as part of the U.S. Army’s famed 10th Mountain Division. Upon his return home, he attended the University of Florida, where he earned a Master of Science in Plant Physiology with a Bachelor's in Ornamental Horticulture. He then accepted a position with Eli Lilly and Company in Greenfield, Indiana, developing agricultural chemicals.
Bill was a man of faith, dedicated to living a life pleasing to Christ. He was also dedicated to his wife of 53 years, Elizabeth, who preceded him in death, and to his family.
Bill had a heart for his community, especially concerned with feeding the hungry and helping those in need.
Bill was an example of integrity, steadfastness, solid work ethic, and dedication to family. He is survived, and will be greatly missed, by his five children: Kittrick Wood, Michael (Lynn) Meredith, Lawrence (Nannicha) Meredith, Elaine Sedlock, and Daniel Meredith (Heather); his grandchildren: Anthony (Jennifer) Sedlock, Luke Sedlock, Meredith Sedlock, Michaele Sedlock, Sarah Johnson, Jesse (Kristany) Johnson, Stephen Meredith, Michelle Meredith, Kevin Meredith, Lydia (Christopher) Breault, Sarah (Ferran) Espin, Catherine Meredith, Alicia (William) Wright, Bryanna (Marc) Leazer, and Rhian Meredith; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be given to Golden Harvest Food Bank of Augusta GA.
Bill’s family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to the staff of Fairview Park Hospital in Dublin, who provided him great care during his last two weeks of life, especially Dr. Andre Lewis, who was a great comfort during this most difficult time.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, October 25, 2025 at St Joseph's church, Augusta GA with Father Chris Hassel officiating. Interment will follow at Westover Memorial Park cemetery. Arrangements are by FairHaven funeral home.
