Willard Eugene Black, 73, entered into rest on Sunday, April 5, 2026, peacefully at his home. Mr. Black was born to the late Wyman and Clara Black in Augusta, GA. He retired as a truck driver, where he was known on the radio handle as Stepping Stone. In his spare time, he always enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Mr. Black was a big NASCAR fan and he also enjoyed watching Georgia Bulldog football. Several of his hobbies included, going to the lake, fly fishing, and restoring old cars.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Black is preceded in death by his siblings: Tonya Nettles, Robert Black, Melba Page, Billy Black; grandson: Colton Black; and step-son: Ricky Logue. Mr. Black is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Debora Black; children: Adam Black (Leslie), Danny Wilkins (AnnaMareie), Jennifer Wilkins; brother: Jim Black (Beth); 8 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren along with many nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2pm on Monday, April 13, 2026 at Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Danny Wilkins, Cody Turner, Benny Phipps, Brandon Phipps, Michael Paul Smith, and Tom Nankervis.
The family will receive friends between 12pm-1pm on Monday, April 13, 2026 at FairHaven Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 3507 Wrightsboro Road, Augusta, GA 30909.
