Wayne Williams

May 11, 1956 — Jul 22, 2026

Augusta, GA

Wayne L. Williams, 70, of Augusta, GA, passed away on July 22, 2026.

Wayne graduated from the Academy of Richmond County and began his career in the restaurant industry. As a cook in multiple restaurants across South Carolina and Georgia, he developed cooking talents that his family and friends frequently enjoyed over the years. Wayne later transitioned into construction, where he became known as a highly skilled framer and carpenter, though his versatile craftsmanship spanned many areas of building and construction.

Wayne was a former member of the Augusta Gem and Mineral Society. He frequently went on “rock hounding” dig trips with his brother, Glenn, exploring multiple sites to search for unique specimens, with a smoky quartz crystal being his favorite discovery over the years.

Wayne grew up in a home full of pets, inheriting a deep love for animals from his mother. Throughout his life, he always lived with at least one pet as a companion. Wayne was also incredibly blessed with wonderful neighbors who truly cared for one another, always looking out for him and sharing a close, supportive bond.

Wayne was predeceased by his mother, Ann G. Williams. He is survived by his brother, Glenn Williams of Augusta, GA; and his sister, Gail Williams, and her husband, Tim Johns, currently of Phoenix, AZ.
