Una Garvin

Una Garvin, 91, of Martinez, GA, passed away on February 25, 2026 at her home after a brief illness.

Una Garvin was born in Bois Content, St. Catherine, Jamaica to Egnew and Bradford McCalla on December 7, 1934. She received her initial nursing training at the University of the West Indies, Jamaica and continued her studies in England where she became a Registered Nurse. She continued her studies in Philadelphia where she became a nurse anesthesiologist.

Una is survived by her son, Marc Garvin; granddaughter, Mya Garvin; brother, Basil McCalla; sisters, Ina Henry, Lolita and Lila McCalla; and many nieces and nephews.

Her Memorial service will be held at Our Savior Episcopal Church 4227 Columbia Road, Martinez, GA 30907 on Monday, March 16, 2026 at 2pm. The burial will follow at the Church Plot.
