Thomas David Norris

February 19, 1964 — September 4, 2025

Thomas David Norris, 61, of Thomson, Georgia, passed away peacefully at home on September 4, 2025.

Born on February 19, 1964, at Vandenburg Air Force Base in Santa Maria, California, Thomas was the son of the late Mary Nell Saults and the late Haynes Stanley Norris. He is survived by his devoted wife of 33 years, Janet Wyatt Norris, and their cherished daughter, Jessica Lynn Norris, along with her fiancé Kyle Jackson. He also leaves behind his sister, Teresa Graybill, her husband David, and their son Nathanael Graybill, who held a special place in his heart. Thomas’s life was also enriched by his brothers-in-law James, Philip, and John Wyatt, who were not only family but lifelong friends and true brothers to him for more than three decades, as well as his father-in-law, Roy Wyatt.

Thomas proudly served his country in the United States Army before attending the University of South Carolina Aiken, where he graduated before beginning a distinguished career with the United States Secret Service. He dedicated most of his adult life to protecting others with courage, integrity, and perseverance until his retirement.

Outside of his career, Thomas was a man of laughter, adventure, and deep appreciation for the outdoors. He was an avid hunter and fisherman who also loved camping, traveling the country with his wife, and working on projects from working on cars to working the fields on a tractor. Known for his humor, love of animals (especially squirrels), and ability to brighten any moment with a joke, Thomas lived each day with positivity and determination. He approached every task with pride and a strong will to complete it.
