Tamela Lynne "Tammy" Waters McGaha

Tamela Lynne “Tammy” Waters McGaha, age 65, of Blythe, Georgia entered into rest surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, July 8, 2026.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2026 at 11am in the chapel of Barton Chapel Methodist church with Pastor Rick Nevard officiating.

Tammy is the daughter of Richard Ronald Waters, Sr. and the late Gazelda Annette “Betty” Waters.

Tammy is survived by her father Richard Ronald Waters, Sr. (age 92); two children, Tabatha Lynne (Bubba) Brown King and James “Jamie” Woodrow Prather; ten grandchildren – Triston, Shelby, Dallas, Ayden, C.J., Piper, Kamton, Kasey, Julie and Kayla; one great-grandchild, Bethany Faye Mason; two brothers, Richard Ronald “Ricky” Waters, Jr. and Nathaniel “Scott” Waters; two sisters, Phyllis Ann “Sissy” Vaughn and Margaret Elizabeth “Beth” Harden. Tammy is also preceded in death by her son, Andrew “Andy” Parham; her grandparents, Jim and Katie Chavous, and Arthur and Mattie Bell Waters.

Tammy grew up in Augusta, Georgia. She went to Bayvale Elementary School and Glenn Hills High School. She was a lifelong member of Barton Chapel Methodist Church. She also attended Bible Study class at the First Church of the Nazarene.

Tammy was a homemaker but she also worked outside of the home in her younger years as a caregiver and cleaning homes for others. Some of her favorite pastimes included crocheting, crafting, cooking, reading, yardwork and plantings flowers, caring for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren that lovingly know her as Gran-Nana.

She also loved her time at the beach with family and friends. Tammy touched many lives.

Honorary pallbearers will be Dallas Johnson, C.J. King, Zack Mason and Ben Chavous.
