Stella L. Martin

Mrs. Stella L. Martin, Augusta, Georgia, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on June 3, 2022, wife of the late Mr. James Robert Martin of 68 years. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, June 8, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at Pineview Baptist Church with Reverend John C. Kilpatrick officiating. Visitation for friends will be at 9:30 a.m. prior to the service, interment following @ Westover Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Dr. Robert Chandler, Clayton Chandler, Abe Fleming, Thomas Fleming, Neal Martin and Scott Martin. Mrs. Martin was a native of Murphy, North Carolina and had lived most of her adult life in Augusta, Georgia. She was a member of Pineview Baptist Church and a previous member of Pine Hill Baptist and Hillcrest Baptist Church. She retired from the State of Georgia after 20 years of service. She had extraordinary culinary skills in which she blessed her family and friends daily with nutritional meals and at family gatherings and celebrations. She was an avid homemaker and a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister to her only sister Mildred. She had a passion for gardening and enjoyed nature. She is survived by her son Dale Martin (Frances); daughters Shirley Chandler (Clayton) and Barbara Fleming (Thomas); sister Mildred Carter; nephew Scott Carter.; eight grandchildren, Neal, Scott, Amy, Abe, Robert, David, Kristen and David; nine great-grandchildren, Jordan, Luke, Nathan, Sarah, Matthew, Wade, Deacon, Emma and Elizabeth. Preceding in death by her daughter, Iris Youngentob and two grandchildren, Sarah and Christopher Chandler.
