It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Simone Renee De Vaney, a cherished resident of Augusta, Ga., who peacefully departed this world on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, at the age of 87.
Simone was born on a spring Saturday, April 2, 1938, in the picturesque city of Metz, France. She spent her early years in France before moving to Augusta, Ga in 1964, where she would build a life filled with love and dedication.
Simone devoted many years to her career as a Medical Records Clerk at Gracewood State School and Hospital, where she was known for her impeccable work ethic and kind spirit. Her attention to detail and commitment to helping others left a lasting impression on colleagues and patients alike.
Outside of work, Simone was a loving friend and a compassionate community member. She was a woman of great strength and grace, values she carried throughout her life.
Simone is preceded in death by her parents, Catherine and Jean Miltgen, two brothers, Pierre and Jean Miltgen, and her youngest son, Kent De Vaney.
Simone is survived by her son, Robin De Vaney (Debbie), her daughter, Kathy Simon and her only grandchild, Shannon Renee Simon. Simone also leaves behind her beloved cats, Ginger, Sweetie, and Tiger.
Simone Renee De Vaney’s life was a testament to dedication, love, and compassion, leaving an indelible mark on those fortunate enough to have known her. Her spirit will be dearly missed but fondly remembered by all whose lives she touched.
