Samuel Ryan May

Samuel Ryan May, age 40, of Martinez, Georgia left this world unexpectedly on September 26th, 2026. 

He called being the Manager and Mechanic of The Bicycle Peddler for the last 8 years his dream job, and he was a beloved member of the community. Sam had a passion for biking, reading, gardening, cooking, woodworking, target shooting, walking barefoot whenever he could, and fixing anything with gears. 

Sam is preceded in death by his brother, Clinton May; and grandfather, Melvin Sam May, Jr. He is survived by his father, Melvin Sam May, III; his mother, Leslie Mein May; his grandmother and her husband, Carol and Bobby Gray; his step-grandmother, Glenda May; his grandmother, Lynn Maughon; his bonus family, Leslie, Steve, and Katie Wright; his partner, Alissa "Ali" Northrup; and his soul dog, Jed.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 2nd, 2026 at 6:30 PM at FairHaven Funeral Home, 3507 Wrightsboro Rd. Augusta, GA 30909. All who want to honor and remember him are welcome.
