Biography Mrs. Ruth Collins Silva Retired Florist Grovetown, Ga. Ruth Collins Griffin Silva, 85, went home to be with her Lord Easter Sunday morning, March 31, 2013 at Doctors Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 pm on Thursday April 4, 2013 at West Acres Baptist Church, 555 Gibbs Road, Evans, Georgia, with Rev. Larry Harmon officiating. Ruth was born in Sumrall, Mississippi on January 18, 1928 to O.C. and Amanda (Tolar) Collins. She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers, O.C.Collins, C.E. Collins, Sister, Laurice Collins Grove, twin sister Ruby Collins and two sons Gary Beauford and Walter Laurence Griffin. Although Ruth was a retired florist and enjoyed caring for plants and arranging flowers, her greatest joy was in the role of homemaker and being a loving mother and grandmother. She loved animals, often taking in strays and giving them a good home. She is survived by her husband, Richard P. Silva and five children, Dan Griffin (T.J) of North Carolina, Sharon Renner (Gene) of Evans, Randall Griffin ( Chris) of Grovetown, Teresa Krieger (John) of Texas, and Michael Griffin. Her grandchildren include Forrest Griffin, Heather Renner Poole, Joana Renner Nieves, Paul Krieger, Amy Krieger, William Krieger, Karis Krieger and three great grandchildren, Haylee, Renner and Ella. The family will receive friends at the funeral home this evening from 5:00-7:00 pm.
