Robert "Bob" A. Jones

Robert A. "Bob" Jones, 88, of Thomson, GA, passed away on August 2 2025 in at his residence in Thomson. GA.

Robert A. Jones was born in McRoberts, KY to Arthur L. and Ethel T. Jones on June 6, 1937. He graduated from Rhea Central High School in Dayton, TN. He married Ruth Cartledge on May 10, 2003 in Evans, GA.

He worked as a QC Inspector/Fire Protection Specialist for Georgia Power at Plant Vogtle for 19 years. He was a retired veteran and served in the Air Force and Air Force Reserve here and abroad.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, motorcycles, and playing golf. He was a life member of HOG, member of NRA, Loyal Order of Moose, and American Legion. He devoted time to various charities and organizations.

Robert is preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Jones; his father, Arthur L. Jones; mother, Ethel T. Jones and a daughter, Lorinda J. Jones.

Robert is survived by his son, Gregory (Jean) Jones; daughter, Malinda Henderson; brother, Edward K. (Anita) Jones; two sisters, Marilyn Thorla and Margaret(JP) Runyan; grandchildren, Allison Jones, Emily (Jonathan) Jones-Transue, Justin Matthews and Kayla Matthews; great-grandchildren, Preston Moore, Taylor Matthews and Trevor Lynn as well as his best buddy, Trixie.
