Michael "Mike" Dennis Burgess Sr

Michael “Mike” Dennis Burgess, Sr., 74, of Augusta, GA, entered into rest on Tuesday, December 23, 2025.

Mike was the son of the late Dennis and AnnaBelle Burgess of Augusta, GA.

He worked many years in sales and management for electrical companies in the Augusta area. His favorite employment was with the Georgia Theatre Company, where he had the most fun and made lifelong friends, he truly cherished.

Mike enjoyed attending auctions, going to Waffle House to meet with friends, and spending time at any type of family gathering. He was always positive, happy, smiling, and a joy to be around. He will be dearly missed by his family and all those whose lives he touched during his time here on Earth.

In addition to his parents, Mike was preceded in death by his wife, Deborah Kay Burgess; and his sisters, Sandra Evans, Patricia Eick, and Linda Malpass.

Those left to cherish his memory include his children: Kevin Burgess (Kelli) of Holt, FL; Michael “Mike” Burgess, Jr. (Jennifer) of Jackson, SC; Lynett Hitt, William Inglett, James Inglett, and Tiffaney Reeves, all of Grovetown, GA.

He is also survived by his grandchildren: Bayne Burgess, Shyler Burgess, Kevin Burgess, Jr., Devin Burgess, Madison Burgess, Hunter Burgess, Brianna Burgess, Keirsten Brown, Shannon Cray, Emily Hitt, Trey Inglett (Sheena), Dalton Inglett (Savannah), and Jacey Powell; and his great-grandchildren: Grayson Inglett, Skylar McPherson, Ryder Davenport, and Braelynn Inglett.

Additional survivors include his brothers, Bill Burgess (Sue) of Rosebud, MO, and Richard “Ricky” Mercer (Emily) of Warrenville, SC, as well as many cherished nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the staff of CenterWell Home Health, Heartland Hospice, and Fairhaven Funeral Home for their care and compassion.
