Mary Virginia Lawson

Mary Virginia Lawson, 72, of Grovetown, Georgia, passed away on September 25, 2026 in Augusta, Georgia.

Mary was born in Middlesex, England to Walter and Joyce Stata on November 6, 1953. She went to school at John Battle High School in Abington, Virginia. She married James Lawson on December 11, 1988 in Virginia Beach, Virginia.

She worked as a waitress for Happy Jacks Restaurant for 5 years.

Mary loved animals, music, games, painting, and gardening. She was passionate about all things strange including astronomy, and astrology. Mary was spiritual and taught her children and grandchildren how to appreciate and cherish the earth and all its creatures.

Mary is preceded in death by her beloved husband, James Lawson. 

She is survived by her daughters, Heather (Allen) Stevenson and Suzanne (Charlie) Weaver; mother, Joyce Sweeney; granddaughter, Chelsea (Will) Stevenson; grandson, Remy Stevenson and granddaughter, Victoria (Barret) Wise-Dalber.
