Mary Frances Atkinson

Mary Frances Atkinson went to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 19, 2019. She is the daughter of the late Carlton and Essie Dell Shelton. She was a devoted mother and housewife and loved her family and friends dearly. She enjoyed watching her soaps and working in her yard. Attended the New Covenant Church in Statesboro.A native of Glascock county, she lived in Augusta, GA. Mary Frances was preceded in death by her parents; husband William Atkinson, daughter Mary Ellen Meadows and sister Amy Lunceford. She is survived by daughter Rose Ann McKeehan (Richard) of Statesboro; son, “Little” William Atkinson, grandson raised as her own, Michael Meadows (Tonya), sister, Christine May of Martinez, brothers Cecil Shelton of Gibson, Thomas Shelton of Warrenton, James Shelton of Gibson, grandchildren Michelle (Eric), Tanya and 6 great grandchildren. Funeral Services will be heldMonday, December 23, 2019, at 11:30 at West View Cemetery.The family will receive friends from 9:30 am until 10:30 AM prior to the service at Poteet Funeral Home, 3465 Peach Orchard Rd, Augusta.
