Mark Lawrence Bakke was born on August 22, 1957, in Grand Forks, North Dakota. He passed away peacefully on October 18, 2026, at the Charlie Norwood VA Medical Center in Augusta, Georgia.
He was a retired soldier, a former professional bowler, and a true gaming icon in the Augusta community. With his signature black hat and dry sense of humor, Mark was always ready to teach someone a game, join a table, or share in the fun. He had a way of making people feel welcome, and his grace in both victory and defeat made him someone people genuinely enjoyed being around.
Survivors
He is survived by his brother, Brian (Jannet) Bakke of Rochester, Minnesota; his sister, Susan (Stephen) Braun of McVille, North Dakota; 12 nieces and nephews; and numerous grandnieces and grandnephews.
Preceded in Death
Mark was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Joan Bakke of McVille, North Dakota.
