Marilyn Gordon Stripling

Marilyn Gordon Stripling, 82, of Grovetown, Georgia passed away on September 27, 2026 in Augusta, Georgia.

Marilyn was born in Alexander City, Alabama to Russell Gordon and Thelma Yarbrough on October 24, 1943. She married Dock Stripling on September 28,1962 in South Carolina. She worked as an Office Administrator for Bob Maddox Dodge for 25 years. She was involved in her church activities at Martinez Baptist Church.

Marilyn is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dock E. Stripling; mother, Thelma Vance; father, Russell Gordon; step-mother, Betty Gordon; step-father, Roy Vance; sisters, Faye Rhodes, Ginny Blaxton, Ruth Gordon, Elizabeth Gordon and brother, Bobby Joe Vance.

Marilyn is survived by her sons, Russell (Donna) Stripling and Mark (Kimberly) Stripling; grandchildren, Bailey (Brent) Plaxico, Taylor (Jake) Benney, Noah (Bailey) Stripling, Caylin Stripling, McKenzie (Tyler) Rhodes; great-grandchildren, Asher Benney, Waylon Stripling, Aubrey Joell Benney; sisters, Sally Phillips, Peggy Cannon, Royceann Adkins; brother, Robert Vance and many loving nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Jose Del Valle, Jon-Eric Stripling, Billy Usry, Shawn Stripling, Brennan Stripling and Corran Stripling.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 2, 2026, from 11:00 to 1:00 with services beginning at 1:00 at Martinez Baptist Church with a graveside committal service to follow at Bellevue Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Phillip Winsett of Martinez Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements are by FairHaven Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
