Mariano Chavarria

Mr. Mariano Chavarria Martinez, GA. Mr. Mariano (Mario) Chavarria, husband of Mrs. Norma Chavarria, entered into rest Wednesday August 12th. Mr. Chavarria was a native of Tampico, Mexico, but spent much of his life traveling during his career with the army before retiring to Augusta. He worked as a medic for the Medical College of Georgia and was retired Army veteran of the Korean and Vietnam wars. Mr. Chavarria was a member of Miracle Baptist Church, a Boy Scout troop leader, and devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his son, Michael (Wendy) Chavarria; daughters, Teresa (Ben) Center and Alicia (Howard) Horton; six grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held Saturday August 15th at 2:00 at Woodlawn Baptist Church (4943 Columbia Rd., Grovetown, GA) with reverend John Bartlett officiating.
