Maria K. Blackstone

Hephzibah, GA Maria K. Blackstone, age 86, passed away Monday, January 19, 2015, at her residence with her family surrounding her. Maria was born July 20, 1928 in Freiburg, Germany, to the late Michael and Celina Bourgonie Kraus.She was preceded in death by her husband, William L. Blackstone. She was a member of Hephzibah Baptist Church.She retired from Hephzibah High School, where she was the School Nurse.She loved quilting. Maria is survived by her 2 sons; Mike (Janet) Blackstone and Ken (Dianne) Blackstone; her grandchildren, Gene and Joann Blackstone, Joseph and Sara Blackstone, Robin Williams, Keith Williams, Perry Brownlee and Melissa Blackstone; great grandchildren, Emily Brownlee, Taylor and McKinley Blackstone, Mason and Owen Blackstone. Family will receive friends Thursday 11 am to 12 Noon at Hephzibah Funeral Home, HWY 88, in Hephzibah, with Memorial Services to follow at 12 Noon at the funeral home with Rev. Don Ormsbee, officiating.Burial to be private. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to one’s choice in Marias’ honor.
