Lucy Dianne Thompson Sharp

Lucy Dianne Thompson Sharp, 81, passed away on October 11, 2026, in Augusta, Georgia, following a brief battle with cancer.

Lucy was born on October 8, 1945, in Augusta, Georgia, to Robert Edgar Thompson and Louise Elizabeth Humphrey Thompson.

A registered nurse, Lucy devoted much of her professional life to healthcare. She worked at the Augusta VA Hospital, and later at Palmetto GBA in Columbia, South Carolina.

Lucy was a member of Marvin United Methodist Church in Augusta and loved her friends in their ladies crafting group. She had a lifelong love of animals, particularly cats, and was an avid equestrian. She enjoyed writing and her poetry and articles were featured in various local publications.

Lucy is survived by her daughter, Christine Sharp Latham, and two granddaughters, Grace Mozingo Getty and Crawford Elizabeth Latham.

She will be remembered for her years of service in nursing, her appreciation for animals, and her passion for horses.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, November 15, 2026, at 1PM at Marvin United Church in Augusta.
