Laura Jane Hutcheson

Laura Jane Hutcheson, 73, of North Augusta, SC, passed away on August 5, 2025, in Augusta, GA.

Laura was born in Lubbock, TX to Ruben Keeton and Patricia Love on July 27, 1952.

She worked as an administrative assistant for the Medical College of Georgia for 25 years.

During her career she was involved with helping students on their journey to succeed in the medical field. She traveled with work to many different places which was something she loved immensely. She was a single mother that raised her daughter with love and dedication. She retired to help with the care of her sister, Linda and to be a devoted grandmother. She loved spending time with her family and meeting up with friends for dinner to catch up on life. She was the kindest and most caring person who always put others first. Her absence will be deeply felt, and her memory will always be cherished.

Laura is preceded in death by her mother Patricia Love and sister, Linda Keeton.

Laura is survived by her father Ruben Keeton (Clara); her daughter, Amanda Hegler (David); her grandchildren, Lilly and Greyson and her sister, Brenda Keeton Farriss.

Memorials may be given to Fairhaven Funeral Home or donate on her behalf to The American Cancer Association.

The family of Laura wishes to extend their sincere thanks to her PCP Dr. Shireen Moore, who was kind and caring for her always. They would also like to express their gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and staff at Piedmont Hospital and Piedmont Summerville for their unwavering care during her time there.

Visitation will be from 6-8:00 PM, Thursday, August 21, 2025, at Fairhaven Funeral Home 3507 Wrightsboro Rd, Augusta, GA 30909.
