Augusta, GA. Jim Marshal Garrison, loving husband of Gail Felio Garrison, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, February 7, 2014. He was born to Phil and Eva Garrison on November 23, 1942 in Union, Mississippi. He was preceded in death by his parents, a granddaughter, Melanie Garrison, his sister, Evelyn Dennis and his four brothers, Dewey, Troy, E. J. and George Garrison. Jim served in the US Navy during the Vietnam Era.He was a Nuclear Specialist for the Southern Group (Plant Votgle) for 19 years.He was a Mason, Shriner, Scottish Rite 32nd Degree, Eastern Star.He was a member of Piney Grove Baptist Church and loved the outdoors.His love for fishing, hunting and camping was shared with his wife. Besides his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Eva Shealy (Jerry Browder), Jim (Wanda) Garrison, Jr., and Bilbo (Audrey) Garrison; grandchildren, Amanda Garrison, Andrew Garrison, Clayton Churchville, Laura Jeffcoat, Kyle Churchville, Alan Garrison, Jesse Garrison, Zachary Lawson and Matthew Lawson. Family will receive friends Saturday (TODAY) from 6 pm to 8 pm at THE POTEET FUNERAL HOME, 3465 Peach Orchard Rd., HWY 25, Augusta, 30906, 706.798.8886. Funeral Services will be Sunday at 3 pm at Piney Grove Baptist Church with Pastor Mark Joyner, officiating.Burial to follow in the church cemetery.Fleming Masonic Lodge #718 with be conducting Masonic Services graveside.Pallbearers will be Mike Adams, Fred Lamback, Leroy Buckmore, Arnold Jones, Jeff Ard and Danny Rogers. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Jims’ honor to the church.
