Jarrod Cheatham, age 57, of South Carolina, passed away on Monday, January 26, 2026, at Aiken Rehabilitation and Care Center.
Jarrod was born on July 30, 1968, in Saluda, South Carolina, to Mary Cheatham. He was lovingly raised by his aunt and uncle, Janie and Maple Phillips, who were the parents he knew as Mom and Dad.
He graduated from Strom Thurmond High School in 1987. Jarrod dedicated his life to his faith as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses and was baptized on March 2, 1985. His zeal for the truth was evident in his heartfelt comments and the genuine love he showed to others. He was known for his kind spirit, quick wit, and the way he could make people smile.
Jarrod was intelligent, funny, and full of personality. He loved to travel and spent many years working as a truck driver, journeying across the country. He enjoyed dancing, keeping people guessing, and sharing laughter wherever he went. One of his greatest joys was his beloved dog, Bunky, whom he loved dearly.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Cheatham Minick and his sister, Cheryl Denise Minick Patrick
Jarrod leaves to cherish his memory his parents, Janie and Maple Phillips; his siblings, Maple (Shirley) Phillips, Dempster Phillips, Deftie (Jonathan) Daniel, and Danita (Desmand) Watson; his uncle, Tommie (Barbara) Cheatham; his aunt Louise Key and Jeanette Shealy and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, family, and friends who will miss him deeply.
