James Alexander White, Jr.

Retired SSG James Alexander White, Jr., 75, entered into rest May 20, 2022 at the VA Medical Center in Augusta, Georgia, husband of Rumina “Teresia” White. James was born in Philadelphia, PA on February 11, 1947. Born to the late James & Frances White (nee) Colista. He has lived in the Augusta area since 1983, he was a member of St. Mary on the Hill Catholic Church and a member of American Legion Post #063, he was a retired SSG in the US Army and a retired Truck Driver. Additional survivors include his son, James A. White IV (Jennifer); daughter, Stephanie Giboney (Kerry); brothers, Ronald “Ron” White (Rosemarie); sisters, Margaret “Peggy” Pekala (Raymond); Janet Schaffer (David); Six grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and other family members. He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Robert C."Bobby" White and William Billy White. A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, May 26, 2022 at St. Mary on the Hill Catholic Church with Father Vernon Knight Celebrant at 1:00 pm. The family will receive friends at the church 1 hour prior to service. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park with full Military Honors. Pallbearers will be: Jimmy Chapelear, David Schaffer, James A. White V, Michael Pezzeca, Joseph A. White, Jacob A. White and Matthew Pezzeca.
