James "J.L." Powell

Mr. James "J.L. Powell, 77, entered into rest Sunday, January 19, 2020, loving husband of Peggy Lee Edmondson Powell. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, January 22, 2020 at 4:00 pm from the Christian Heritage Church with Pastor Stephen Phillips officiating. JL was born in Lincolnton, Georgia and worked at University Hospital in the Maintenance Department, he was a member of Christian Heritage Church. He was a Veteran of the US Navy. Additional survivors include his sons, Joey Chance; Dean Chance (Melissa); daughters, Renee Gowan (Jimmy); brothers, Hartwell Powell (Melvis); Allen Powell; sisters, Phyllis Scarborough (Junior); Teresa New; grandchildren, Leland and Kaylen Chance. In lieu of flowers the family would like donations to help with the funeral expenses.
