James T. Goins

U.S. Army Retired First Sergeant James T. Goins, entered into rest on Monday January 29, 2018 at his residence. Graveside services will be held 11:00 AM Friday February 2, 2018 at Brothersville Cemetery on Mims Road, Hephzibah with Pastor Danny McGill. The procession to the graveside will depart the funeral home at 10:15 am on Friday morning. Military honors will be accorded by the Ceremonial Detachment of Fort Gordon. Survivors include his wife Linda Turner Goins; sons and daughter-in-law Rod (Kimmie) Goins and Chris Williams; daughters and son-in-law Kathy Goins, Debbie Beagley and Ashley (Jason) Calvert; brother Bud (Patricia) Goins; sisters Nina Hatfield and Fleda Krywy; thirteen grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. The family would like to express a special thanks to his guardian angel Susan Fulcher. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 PM on Thursday evening at Poteet Funeral Home, 3465 Peach Orchard Road, Augusta.
