Hugh Shaffer

Mr. Hugh Shaffer, 81, of Augusta, GA passed away on Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at his residence. Born in Shamokin, PA, he was the son of the late John and Edith Shaffer. He lived in various cities before moving to Augusta in 1976. He retired from the Army after twenty one years of service. Hugh also worked for Georgia Power as security, Columbia Nitrogen, and Sizemore Security. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Pearl Shaffer, daughter in law, Karen Shaffer, three brothers, and a sister. He is survived by his sons, Dennis (Denice) Shaffer, Ben Shaffer, both of Augusta, GA, brother Benjamin (Jovanta) Shaffer. The family will receive friends on Friday, March 27, 2015 from 1 -2pm at The Poteet Funeral Home, 3465 Peach Orchard Rd, Augusta. A Memorial Service will be held at 2pmon Friday, March 27, 2015 in The Poteet Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be private.
