Gustavo Rossell, 84, passed away peacefully on April 12, 2026, surrounded by the people who meant the most to him—his beloved wife, whom he lovingly called “Negra,” his daughter Romy, his son-in-law Shane, and his cherished grandchildren: Casey, Sophie, Ella, Erin, and Calvin.
Born on January 15, 1942, in Lima, Peru, Gustavo built a life defined by courage, love, and unwavering dedication to his family. He made the life-changing decision to move to the United States in August of 1989, with his wife and young daughter in search of greater opportunity, laying the foundation for the generations that followed.
Gustavo was a true gentleman in every sense of the word. He had a natural gift for making people feel welcome—he never met a stranger, only friends he hadn’t yet gotten to know. Known for his quick wit and playful sense of humor, he was a constant source of laughter and light to those around him. Beneath that humor was a man with an extraordinarily big heart, always putting others before himself and offering kindness without hesitation.
He is survived by his loving wife, his daughter Romy, his son-in-law Shane, his grandchildren Casey, Sophie, Ella, Erin, and Calvin, his sister Olga, his many nieces and nephews, his great-grandchildren Zoe and Levi, and many dear friends whose lives he touched deeply.
A celebration of Gustavo’s life will be held on April 21st at 2:00 PM at 928 Windmill Parkway in Evans, where family and friends are invited to gather, share memories, and honor a life so beautifully lived.
