Gretchen Friday Gallagher

Gretchen Friday Gallagher passed peacefully into the hands of our Lord September 23, 2015. She was born September 15, 1935 in Kansas City, MO., and grew up in New Richmond, WI. She was the daughter of the late Carleton A. and Bess Brink Friday.She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years John E. (Jack) Gallagher. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin where she met Jack.They moved to Chicago, then to Dumont, NJ., then to Franklin, KY., before settling in Augusta.She was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother.She was an avid Green Bay Packers fan.She truly brightened and enriched the lives of all who were around her.She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She is survived by her 2 sons, Kevin (Donna) Gallagher of Cleveland, TN., and John (the late Jo-Ann) Gallagher of Grovetown, GA.; 1 brother, Fritz C. (Kathy) Friday of Naples, FL.; 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Family will receive friends Sunday 1 pm to 2 pm at THE POTEET FUNERAL HOME, 3465 Peach Orchard Rd., HWY 25, Augusta, 30906, 706.798.8886, with services to follow at 2 pm with Pastor Dwayne Carter, officiating.Burial will be private and held at the convenience of the family in Bellevue Memorial Gardens.
