Mr. George Alexander Rogers Retired Attorney Evans, Ga., George A. Rogers, 85, passed into peace while he slept on January 17, 2015, with family by his side in Augusta, Georgia. He was born in Saint John, New Brunswick on February 3rd, 1929 to George Herbert and Hazel Rogers. George graduated from Dalhousie University with a Law Degree, received a Masters in Law from Southern Methodist University and spent most of his career working for Imperial Oil in Toronto, Ontario, where he was General Counsel. George retired at 57, and spent the remainder of his life at the side of his loving wife, Sally, traveling the world, golfing at his favorite course, Mississauga Golf and Country Club, and writing funny, entertaining memoirs, George and Sally became snowbirds with many dear friends in both Mississauga, Ontario and Sarasota, Florida. George will be remembered for the way he lived his life; with kindness, patience and generosity for all. His family meant everything to him and Sally, his wife of 56 years, was the love of his life. George is survived by Sally; daughters and sons-in-law, Betts and Ken Murdison (Augusta, GA), Paula and Alan Carlton (London, England); son and daughter-in-law Bert and Heidi Rogers (Calgary AB) and son Scott Rogers (Hamilton ON), nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Ronald McDonald House of Augusta, Georgia at RMHCAugusta.org or 1442 Harper Street, Augusta, GA 30901. A memorial service will be held at St. Stephen’s-on-the-Hill United Church in Mississauga, Ontario in May 2015.
