George Edward Hendricks

Mr. George Edward Hendricks entered into rest on 7 July 2025. He passed away peacefully in his sleep during an afternoon nap.

A native of Pickens, South Carolina, he was the son of James Henry Hendricks, Jr. and Thelma Simmons Hendricks, and the elder brother of Daniel H. Hendricks. He married Lucile Freeman Hendricks in 1959, with whom he had three children.

Mr. Hendricks worked as a purchasing agent for several textile companies, living in South Carolina, North Carolina and Mississippi. He retired to Martinez, Georgia to be close to family and spent time caring for his beloved wife and dogs until their passing.

He is preceded in death by his wife and younger son, James Christopher Hendricks. He is survived by his children, George Brian Hendricks and Margaret Anne Hendricks, and their respective spouses, Susan Zeigler Hendricks and Moira Knott. His surviving grandchildren include Skylar Hendricks Burpee, Austin Hendricks, Jordan Hendricks, Kayli Hendricks and Gabrielle Hendricks.

The family wishes to thank Southeast Hospice for their kindness and support.

After cremation, the family will gather in memoriam at 11:00 am on Monday, 14 July, at FairHaven Funeral Home.
