Garnett G. Howard, Sr.

Garnett G. Howard Sr. (Peewee), 85 of August, Ga., entered into rest Sunday, January 4, 2026. 

Mr. Howard was born March 1, 1940 in Augusta, GA. to the late Erbie and Minnie Howard. He joined the Marine Corps in 1956 and later Joined the United States Air Force with honorable discharge in 1962. Mr. Howard retired in 2002 from the Graniteville Textile Mill where he worked as a Machinist for 40 years. 

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Maggie Howard of 65 years; his two brothers, Carl Howard and David Howard; his two sisters, Margie Green and Milly Price and two great-grandchildren. 

Surviving family members include two sons, Garnett Howard Jr. his wife Donna Howard, William Howard Sr.; daughter, Patricia Alfano; three grandchildren, Nichole Howard, William Howard Jr, Shannon Cozart and four great-grandchildren, Leonard Shockey, David Shockey, Averie Cozart and Wade Cozart. 

Services will be held at Bellevue Memorial Gardens on Friday, January 16, 2026 at 1:30 PM.
