Donna June Matney North

Augusta, GA. Donna June Matney North, age 53, of Augusta, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, November 13, 2015. She was born March 18, 1962, in Long Island, N.Y. to Clide and Mary Justus Matney of Augusta. She was a teacher for 25 years in the Richmond Co. School System having worked at Hephzibah Middle School before her retirement.Her love for her family was first and foremost.She loved reading and studying the Bible.She loved the outdoors whether it was gardening or camping.She never met a stranger and was willing to lend a helping hand when needed. She leaves behind her husband of 30 years, Jay North; her daughter, Brittany (James) North Goff of Augusta; her grandson, Jordan Matthew North. Family will receive friends Wednesday 5 pm to 8 pm at THE POTEET FUNERAL HOME, 3465 Peach Orchard Rd., HWY 25, Augusta, 30906. Services will be Thursday 11 am at Hillcrest Memorial Park Mausoleum, 2700 Deans Bridge Rd., Augusta, 30906.
