Deborah Darlene Scavone

Mrs. Deborah “Darlene” Scavone, 56, beloved wife of Mr. Christopher Frank Scavone, Sr. entered peacefully into rest in the comfort of her home in Appling, Georgia on Friday morning, April 15, 2022, at 6:12 AM.

Funeral services to celebrate her life will be held at Apostolic Cathedral of Praise at 2:00 PM Tuesday afternoon, April 19, 2022, with Pastor Marcus Holt officiating, located at 3678 Riverwatch Parkway in Martinez, Georgia.

Darlene was born in Augusta, Georgia on July 29, 1965, to George Davis Savage Sr. and the late Katherine “Kathy” Louise Savage and was their third child of their eight children. Growing up Darlene was kind, honest, caring, gentle, and loving– traits that carried on throughout her life positively impacting everyone she met.

Darlene met her soul mate, Chris, in her teenage years and soon were married. Darlene was a devout and loving wife and was looking forward to celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary in 2022. Together they had a daughter Crystal Scavone Dupree, a son Chris Scavone Jr. and gained an extra daughter (in-law) through marriage, Amanda Scavone. Darlene adored all of her grandchildren – Leonard “Lee” Larkin Dupree IV, Liliana “Lily” Grace Dupree, Harper Leigh Scavone, Sutton Grey Scavone, and one heavenly grandchild Ben Dupree.

She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend. She was preceded in death by her mother Katherine “Kathy” Louise Savage and one grandchild Ben Dupree. She is survived by her husband, Christopher Frank Scavone Sr.; her daughter, Crystal Scavone Dupree; her son, Christopher Frank Scavone, Jr. (Amanda); her father, George Davis Savage Sr.; her four sisters, Katherine Dianne James, Teresa Lynn Savage, Lisa Michele Nicholson (Otis), Kimberly King (Scott); her three brothers, George Davis Savage, Jr., Timothy Benson Savage, Christopher Lee Savage; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws, cherished friends, co-workers and even loyal customers who would wait in the longest checkout lanes to have the best Wal-Mart cashier.
