Carmen Jongma

Carmen Jongma, 94, fell asleep in death on October 19, 2026.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 40 years, Henry Jongma, as well as her parents, three sisters, and a brother.

She is survived by her six children, Nora Weigl (Scott), Robert Jongma (Gloriana), Roxxie Blanton (Marlin), Debbie Driggers (Kirk), Julie Zaremba (Aaron), and James Jongma; 12 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind many special nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

Carmen lived an adventurous life alongside her husband, moving often throughout the years to Alaska, Hawaii, Texas, Iowa, Virginia, and Georgia, where they eventually retired.

Carmen will be remembered for her hardworking spirit, her loving heart, and the deep love she had for her family and friends. Above all, she will be remembered for her love for her Creator, Jehovah God, and His Son, Jesus Christ. She knew no strangers and had a special way of making others feel welcome.

She faithfully attended meetings at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Evans, Georgia, where she continued to nurture her faith and enjoy the fellowship of her spiritual family.

All who knew Carmen knew of her strong faith and her hope in Jehovah’s promise of a resurrection. We look forward to the day when we can welcome her back and be reunited with her once again.

“If a man dies, can he live again?” — Job 14:14, 15

“And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more.” — Revelation 21:4
