Carlton Timothy “Tim” Harden, 78, of Leah, went to be with the Lord and family members on May 29, 2025, after losing the battle with bone cancer that had progressed all over. He predeceased in death by his parents, Tom Robert Hardin, Sr, and Eugenia Calloway Lindsey Hardin, and siblings Tom Robert Hardin, Jr (Ruby), Mary Katheryn Hardin, Roxie June Hardin Norris Spaulding (“Cup”/ Les), Ramsey Gerald Hardin (Elizabeth), and Aristides Lindsey Hardin. He is survived by the mother of his sons, Rose Marie Owens Hardin; two sons: John Wesley “Wes” Hardin (Valerie) and Timothy “Tim” Norman Hardin. Grandchildren that carry on the Hardin name: Cameron, Conner, Hayden(Kaley), Nathan, Kyndall, Cooper, Kollyns, and his bonus grandson Dustin Cains, and a great grandson, Cohen Hardin. He is survived by his sister, Rose Marie Hardin McNeill, and his sister-in-law, Brenda Hardin. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews who love and adore him: Tom Robert Hardin, III, Albert Jerald “Jerry” Harden(Iwona), BobbyJean Wynn(Jimmy), Aristides “Aris” Lindsey Hardin(Tracey), Susanmarie Harden(JasonPope), and Melanie Hardin O’Connor(Jerome). Also, great nieces and nephews: Heather Ashley Harden Cross (Jason), Ramsey Neal Wynne, Aris “Lindsey” Harden(Shelby), Sarah Julia Hardin,Clifton and Melissa Norris, MargaretCaroline Anderson, Jayden Faith Pope, Jacob David Harden, Scarlett Leah Harden, Jackson Joyner O’Connor (Alley), and Brittany O’Connor; Great-great nieces: Luma Rose Cross, Ranie, Ramsey, Rawlings Wynne. He was born at home in Appling, Georgia, on December 18, 1946, where he spent most of his life. He served in the U.S. Army. He was a retired ironworker and was also employed by Otis Elevator in construction, and later in jewelry repair with A. A. Friedman Company (Friedman’s Jewelers/Marks and Morgan). He enjoyed hunting, fishing, reading all kinds of books, and creating Native American artifacts. He was a life member of the Sons of the Confederacy. He was a former member of Damascus Baptist Church and a current member of First Baptist Church. He was cremated, and his ashes will be placed on the family farm. There will be no formal services. All donations can be made to the American Cancer Society. |
