Archie Ray Bozeman

Archie Ray Bozeman of Grovetown, GA passed away peacefully at home in the early hours of Friday, September 5, 2025.

“Ray” was born in Roanoke, VA to Archie and Evelyn. He met and married the love of his life, Deborah Maria Spraker in 1968. They were married for almost 57 years. Through those years, they endured many military moves, enjoyed the births of four sons and a multitude of grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Ray joined the Army in 1968 and proudly served his country for 22 years. After his military career he worked as a Meter Foreman for the City of North Augusta and retired from Club Car in Augusta, GA after 11 years.

Ray was an avid woodworker/carpenter and a general “fix-it man”. He loved to fish and dedicated his time to working with and supporting the Southeastern Paralyzed Veterans Association. He was always willing to give his time and efforts to others.

Ray was an extremely loved man, who took in many additional “bonus children”. He was blessed in all. He truly leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter.

In recent years, Ray really found his faith and loved his church family very much. He was always so appreciative of the outpouring of love and kindness from his Quest Church Family.

Ray “Paw Paw” Bozeman is survived by his loving wife, Debbie “Liberty” Bozeman; Sons, Alan Ray (Christy), Bobby (Heather), Jeremiah (Jan), Joshua (Sarah), and Marc Cappa (Katie); Grandchildren, Ariel (Chris), Kaitlyn (Taylor), Sydney, Ryder, Cahley, Zachary, Alex, Ezekiel, Elijah, Kailya, Leilanorah, Elaynah, Jacob, and Callie. Paw Paw was greatly loved by 7 great-grandchildren with 2 more on the way, and Siblings, Shirley Devore and Buddy Beasley.

Ray was preceded in death by his parents Archie Stevenson Bozeman and Evelyn Gaines and his daughter, Tammy Ray.

Services will be held on Saturday, September 13th at 11:00 am at Quest Church 5001 Gateway Blvd, Grovetown GA 30813. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Quest Church Building Fund on their website.
