Ann Wise Henderson

Ann Wise Henderson was born May 29, 1940. The daughter of Theodore “Pete” Wise and Evelyn Poole Wise, she was a lifelong resident of Augusta Georgia. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Charles Wayne Henderson, daughter Sharon Henderson Bellamy and brothers William “Bill” Wise and Samuel Wise. She is survived by her brother Ted Wise and her sister Tiny Janes as well as children Claudia Sharp, Michael Henderson (Lynda), and Tom Henderson (Deb).

Lovingly known as Mrs. H to almost everyone she knew, her favorite name was “Nannie” or “Grandma Ann” as she was known by her grandchildren Jana Covington (Jake), Katie Hamilton, Casey Wood (Christopher), Christie Moody (Ryan), Aaron Henderson, Joshua Henderson and Daniel Henderson. She also relished the role of Nannie to her great-grandchildren Grace and Jensen Moody and Eliza and Elliott Wood.

Ann had a profound impact on everyone she knew. Her kindness, generosity and caring made everyone feel loved and respected. She loved her family unconditionally and gave willingly of her time and resources. She was surrounded by loving stories and laughter from her family as she departed this world for her heavenly home on May 17th, 2025.

Ann loved music and Christian television. She could frequently be heard sing or humming her favorite hymns. She was a member of Journey Community Church and participated in the women’s ministries until she could no longer drive. Never one to sit idle she loved to clean the kitchen, cook and sneak food to her favorite dog Sampson.

Ann worked as a nursing assistant, unit clerk and Nursing Support Manager for the Labor and Delivery department at MGC for 35 years. She retired in 1995 and spent much of her time devoting full time care to her family especially those who were sick and in need. The family is comforted knowing she joins her beloved father, mother, brothers, daughter and husband in heaven.

The family will receive friends and family at Fairhaven Funeral Home on Wednesday May 21, 2025, at noon with services at the Chapel at Fair Haven following and graveside services at Westover Cemetery. Pastor Andy Collins of Sharon Baptist Church officiating.
